When planning a family catamaran sailing experience in Mallorca, it’s natural that a thousand questions start going through your mind… That’s why our family catamaran sailing experience from Santa Ponsa, Mallorca is designed to make both parents and children feel relaxed, safe and happy from the very first moment on board.
Will we feel comfortable with the crew?
Absolutely, yes 🙂
Our crew has extensive experience welcoming families on board our private catamaran charter in Mallorca, and even while we are on board we always make sure that you can enjoy your private family moments. Many times it will almost feel as if we are not even there.
For example, after dinner and once everything is tidy, the crew usually retires early to our cabin so that you can relax and enjoy the boat with your family — almost as if it were entirely your own.
Will children get bored on a catamaran during the day?
Children and teenagers are usually the ones who enjoy the most a family catamaran holiday.
In the morning, after a delicious breakfast outdoors, the day quickly fills with activities: jumping into the sea, snorkelling, paddle boarding, walks along the beach, listening to music, or even reading on deck (something that often surprises parents, as at home they don’t always see them reading).
But on board it’s as if they were in another world — a world they absolutely love!
Without a doubt, what they enjoy most from the moment they step onto the catamaran is the HUGE AND AMAZING NET at the bow, where they spend long moments relaxing, playing and watching the sea.
And so they keep enjoying themselves nonstop until after dinner, when they finally fall asleep and sleep peacefully through the whole night.
How do meals work on board the catamaran?
Breakfast is already included in all our overnight reservations. For the rest of the meals, you can choose the option that suits you best:
○ You can choose the on-board menu service and request either lunch or dinner, for an additional cost of €18 per person per meal. As breakfast is already included with overnight stays, many families choose this option as a half-board arrangement.
This menu includes a first course and a second course of homemade food cooked on board, as well as a dessert. Drinks are not included, except for water.
○ If you prefer to manage your own meals, that is also possible. Our crew member Edurne will gladly help you with anything you may need. Afterwards, she will also take care of tidying the kitchen and washing the dishes after the meals.
○ The crew manages their own meals, so you don’t need to worry about this.
In this case, the crew can also take care of the supermarket shopping, so that when you arrive on board the drinks will already be nicely chilled and the rest of the groceries properly stored on board.
○ For the meals you decide to have on land, Captain Asier will take you ashore or to nearby beaches whenever you wish, and later pick you up from the same place to bring you back to the catamaran.
Can we go ashore whenever we want?
Of course you will.
Keep in mind that our dinghy is like our “car on the sea”, so whenever you wish, Captain Asier will take you ashore or to the beach and later pick you up to bring you back to the catamaran as many times as you like.
Is there a fixed sailing route?
The route will be planned according to your preferences and, of course, depending on the weather conditions. However, you decide the pace and the timing throughout the day.
And if the weather allows it, we can even improvise and adapt the route as the day unfolds, discovering new coves and beautiful spots along the way.
Do we need previous sailing experience?
No experience is necessary. Our professional crew will always be on board to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment throughout the whole experience.
Is sailing on a catamaran safe for families and children?
Your home during the holidays will be a beautiful catamaran built by the renowned shipyard Fountaine Pajot. Catamarans are very stable boats with plenty of space both inside and outside, making life on board extremely comfortable whether we are anchored in a beautiful cove or sailing along the coast.
Thanks to its two hulls, the boat remains very stable and the navigation is smooth and pleasant. Another advantage is that, due to its shallow draft, we can anchor very close to the beach in stunning coves.
○ Another very important point is that our experience has shown us how important it is to have two crew members on board. In case of any unexpected situation, Captain Asier will take care of the boat while Edurne, our crew member, will look after the guests — something especially important when there are children on board.
